Providing sustainable means of healing for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence requires trauma-informed facilitators who lead with compassion. Self-Reclaimed emerged out of a pursuit to provide relatable services to support a survivor's healing journey to reclaim their life. Established in 2020 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Self-Reclaimed is an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of community support.
OUR MISSION & VISION
Self-Reclaimed's mission is to heal, empower, and unite survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. We envision a world that rejects victimhood, embraces survivorship and is free of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Our goal is to understand each survivor’s window of tolerance and apply self-regulation techniques to address the bio-psycho-social-spiritual dimensions of the individual to help them return within their windows. We prioritize healing as the foundation of our mission statement.
Through application and proficiency of the resilience model, our aim is to empower our members to reclaim their physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health.
We believe in order to accomplish our vision of a world free of sexual assault & domestic violence starts with prevention work. Our prevention work consists of our Education & Community Programs. We believe that a trauma-informed approach is critical, and we do this through person-centered services and through the ongoing practice of vulnerability, cultural humility, and radical accountability. We choose to be proactive, rather than reactive.
Serve as a compass for how our organization operates both internally and externally.
They are the application of our core beliefs that help to shape and direct our work.
